The brain is a thinking machine, it is not meant to hold memory.
Therefore, the simple tasks I need to remember go on a list on the computer, projects go on the board. This allows me to both get them out of my head and be more focused on tasks when I do them. Not waste time and fill it with abstract things to do or look at series. It also has the added benefit of not having to think about where you’re putting them, which matters more than you’d think!
Tasks only go here if I don’t deal with them immediately.
I write them here so I don’t need to think about them in my mind.
In a world where attention is more fragmented than ever nothing is more important than the ability to do deep work on the right thing. This means gathering yourself first.
Then you need to write down what matters. Then do it.

In the context of private, does it make sense to have an AI order things around still? For the folders yes, but in general I feel like intention is key here.

where does the AI come in with good value

We should spend a few minutes each day ensuring the day goes smoothly, even if you don’t like it. Especially because we don’t always like to do what we should. You will always have to fight again the currents of life trying to pull into the wrong direction! Discipline

Mind and body equilibrium is the name of the game:
Morning:

  • I start it by reading Meditations to get aligned and energized.
  • Yoga should not be skipped. It helps wake up, get the blood pumping.
  • meditation helps set the mood of your day more intentionally, but I found that talking a walk without distractions can be just as good, your choice.

Day:

  • Gym/sport can help face the restlessness - or tiredness, but most of all it’s a requirement for a balanced and healthy life. The easy thing to do is to bike/run to wherever you have to get, but that’s not always possible. A lot of walking is enough if you can’t do sport, or some in house stuff like the 7 minute workout.
  • Create space. This is the most important thing in our lives, since everything is trying to take your mind space and attention. We have to fight to restore balance. Create space to talk with friends, family, etc, without any expectations. Space to cook, without asking yourself to be efficient. Space to think, etc, etc. Space to be human.
  • Walking is useful, for digestion, both of mind and body. Solvitur ambulando.
  • Music is good for mood, it can help you put yourself in the right head space be it work or rest. 60 bpm baroque is optimal for focus, though I quite like violin music too, or just mood music like lofi or else.
  • Watching series and movies can be cool, but you need discipline in varying what you do. Limitation -is- openness. If you spend the whole day watching videos… Or partying… Meh. But remove something and you’ll have to get creative to fill that space or you’ll be bored. And this space will also help you think on how to direct your energy more efficiently.
  • I think it can be useful to have new sources of information that are chosen. Unlike social media which chooses for you, but a newspaper/website you like. information inputs

End of day:

  • Washing helps digestion and to stabilize the body. It can be part of your morning or evening ritual. It’s recommended not to eat 2 hours before sleeping, so we’re not digesting. Apply that to things of the mind too, do light things with it to not have to digest too much!
  • It’s nice to watch a bedtime story like Kurzgezacht after dark to tuck ourselves in, or a book to read. You can read the bible if you want, or something similar. I’d recommend maintaining a certain balance even if you work in your own time like me.
  • I like to remind myself of the things that happened during the day, sometimes in a journal and sometimes in my head.
  • To be able to actually sleep I’d recommend feeling your body deeply by inhaling and exhaling and passing over every part of it; a body scan. If you feel like you have too much energy still, I’d take a walk.
  • Do not bring your phone to bed. The worst time to use it is in the morning and in the evening, literally. It will take your humanity from you because humanity is choosing and space, and the phone is receiving passively.

Weekend:

  • I always spend Sunday mornings without technology, I find it helps reset the balance, for otherwise I lean too much into work and AI, but that’s not all that I am. Powerful power-less sundays
  • I also avoid working during the weekend, and try to fast a bit, I think choosing a day to fast (at least in the morning) is a good idea, perhaps Saterday.

important

Experimenter mindset: https://raygunos.com/ is the most powerful one I know, but you can just as easily be fueled by God. Or by your Personal myth
Stop acting like you have unlimited willpower, change the system around you so that it makes you work best. atomic habits
If you want to feel stronger, private - no you can’t see mine, of course you can’t!

Discipline

Supposition checks are a great way to use AI, but this can only happen if you have observability into what you do, or a system like https://github.com/Hurleveur/batman
Indeed, for other reasons, reflection is gold
Humans all fail in the same predictable ways: Influence The Psychology of Persuasion

The most important thing you can do is control your inputs, because they define who you are.
Food also and what you actually do. Don’t let life happen to you, which is what tends to happen when you ingurgitate info without meaning to, which is why I deleted my social media accounts.

What I choose as source of information:

  • select youtube channels with history disabled so it doesn’t suggest anything (important)
  • stremio Movies Series

Let’s not lie though private, private

Our brain is not made to store information
-> it will be overwhelmed
-> it miss patterns + thoughts are not observable by others (or even ourselves that much, objectively)
And yet, who we are is mostly our habits, what we surround ourselves with, plus a bit from our past and a smidge from intention. Not the other way around.
Use attention to change your system not to force yourself to do one or two things. quote
So this means that reflection is gold, the unobserved life is indeed not worth living.

I believe it does not make sense to ask ourselves if God actually exists. God is not a rational thing, it is a matter of spirit, or emotions, of hope, of love.
So we should view it differently: does it benefit us to believe in God?
I believe that the answer is yes, and this comes from a hardened ex non believer. I believe that if you don’t have one thing you put above all others, one thing that does not let something disrupt the balance of your life, that is a problem. For me, at least.
Because you might get lost in work. In dating, friends, whatever else. And lose your footing, your health, your balance. I need to grant it to them, religion does seem to work.
I have multiple interpretations for God, I believe all of them can be true.
Are we part of God?
Major religions surely seem to worship the same God to me. And that is my definition by the way.
This feels like God to me classical music though maybe this will offend some. God is in every music, in every breath, and in every sight we have, by the definition of God. But some beauty, calmness, etc, it is tempting to associate God with.
