We should spend a few minutes each day ensuring the day goes smoothly, even if you don’t like it. Especially because we don’t always like to do what we should. You will always have to fight again the currents of life trying to pull into the wrong direction! Discipline
Mind and body equilibrium is the name of the game:
Morning:
- Yoga should not be skipped. It helps wake up, get the blood pumping.
- meditation helps set the mood of your day more intentionaly, but I found that talking a walk without distractions can be just as good, your choice.
Day:
- Gym/sport can help face the restlessness - or tiredness, but most of all it’s a requirement for a balanced and healthy life.
- Create space. This is the most important thing in our lives, since everything is trying to take your mind space and attention. We have to fight to restore balance. Create space to talk with friends, family, etc, without any expectations. Space to cook, without asking yourself to be efficient. Space to think, etc, etc. Space to be human.
- Walking is useful, for digestion, both of mind and body.
- Music is good for mood, it can help you put yourself in the right head space be it work or rest.
- Watching some episodes can be cool, but you need discipline in varying what you do. Limitation is openess. If you spend the whole day watching videos… Or partying… Meh. But remove something and you’ll have to get creative.
- I think it can be useful to have new sources of information that are chosen. So not like social media which chooses for you, but a newspaper/website you like. information inputs
End of day:
- Washing helps digestion and to stabilize the body. It can be part of your morning or evening ritual. It’s recommended not to eat 2 hours before sleeping, so we’re not digesting. I say apply that to things of the mind too, do light things with it to not have to digest too much!
- It’s nice to watch a bedtime story like kurzgezacht after dark to tuck ourselves in, or a book to read.
- I like to remind myself of the things that happened during the day, do a little inventory, for some it can be by writing in a journal.
- I try to make reading the bible the first and last thing I do, to bring myself back to baseline, and wash over the day, be ready to sleep.
- Do not bring your phone to bed. The worst time to use it is in the morning and in the evening, literally. It will take your humanity from you because humanity is choosing and space, and the phone is receiving passively.
Sunday:
- I always spend sunday mornings without technology, I find it helps reset the balance, for otherwise I lean too much into work and AI, but that’s not all that I am. Powerful power-less sundays
