Vault Map

Map of the vault for AI agents. Read AGENTS first for rules, then this for where things live. Counts are live (embedded base below) — only update prose when structure changes.

Purpose of each folder (what a count can’t tell you):

• Meaning/ — largest project: purpose, creating, writing, songs, deep thoughts. Subfolders: Song, Write, Create, Deep
• Books/ — books read and reading list
• To sort/ — inbox, unprocessed. Subfolders: Thoughts, To X, Automated Daily Journal
• Alignement/ — life structure and alignment work
• Friends/ — notes on friends (People-type notes)
• Work/ — work topics incl. Thesis
• References/ — reference material
• Website/ — public website content (obsidian publish; only pages explicitly marked public)
• Women/ — relationships
• Travel/ — trips and travel
• Clippings/ — web clippings
• Movie Serie/ — movies and series
• Daily/ — daily notes
• Data Mining/ — project: mining exported personal data (WhatsApp, Instagram, Google) into this vault

Project dashboards (folder notes)

Each project folder has (or should get) a folder note — same name as the folder, inside it — holding purpose, current state, open threads, and last agent visit. Full content embedded below inside collapsed callouts: click one to expand, the map stays compact. Agents: read your focus folder’s dashboard here before touching its files.

System folders

• Categories/ — one note per category (People, Places, Trips, Journal, Books, Movies, …). Notes declare membership via categories: frontmatter linking here
• Templates/ — one template per note type. Always instantiate from the matching template when creating typed notes (People Template, Place Template, Trip Template, Journal Template, Daily Note Template, …)
• Agent Log/ — one note per AI work session (format in Agent Log). Check the latest log for your focus folder before starting; write yours before finishing

Map maintenance (self-maintaining since 2026-07-11)

Counts are live via the embedded Vault Map Base.base (Bases core plugin): view “Notes per folder” groups every markdown note by file.folder with a count summary (nested folders appear as their own groups, e.g. Meaning/Song); view “By category” groups notes carrying categories: frontmatter by category; view “Work queue” lists every note tagged blocked grouped by folder — an agent’s per-folder agenda. Only the prose is manual:

• On new project folder: add one purpose line above — the base picks up its count automatically
• On new folder note: add a collapsed > [!note]- Name + > ![[Name]] embed pair to Project dashboards above
• New workflow tag in AGENTS: add it to the Work queue view’s containsAny filter in the base
• Root files list stays manual (short, rarely changes)
• Folder purposes and conventions stay hand-written (a base can’t explain why a folder exists)

Conventions (short form — full rules in AGENTS)

• Evergreen notes: short, atomic, grow over time
• Tags at end of files/phrases: question (open, for AI to answer → answer), idea, incomplete, todo, blocked, waiting, verify, recurring
• Link liberally but only where it makes sense
• Nothing is public unless explicitly marked
