Palace

This site is a palace of the mind — my personal vault, but only the public part of it. Feel free to skim through it.

Why does this exist? Sharing knowledge is how we work together for a better future, isn’t it? Why waste time finding out what someone else figured out already.

It’s an Obsidian vault, not a blog. Evergreen notes are short and grow over time, a folder is a project rather than a category, and the links between notes carry as much as the notes do.

Take your time with it, this isn’t meant to be consumed quickly, but represent how the brain works, externaly. The search bar is your friend, use it like you would prompt an AI.

Getting around

• The brain view above is the vault’s live graph, the observatory — open it and see how everything connects.
• The sidebar/explorer lists every room (folder). Folders have notes to detail what’s in them.
• [[wikilinks]] connect notes to each other — click through, that’s the point. This vault resembles my brain: a bit messy, many different thoughts, but most are useful.

How this vault is put together

The base for the logic is how stephango uses obsidian, bent to fit me.

• A folder is a project, and projects link each other. Folders are divided far enough that they stand on their own — not Work → AI and Cyber, but AI and Cyber straight ahead.
• Every folder has a note of the same name, Folder/Folder.md. The address is the convention, so nothing keeps a list of them.
• Notes are evergreen: short, atomic, growing over time. Anything that can be split into its own file with a clear name should be.
• A tag is something to come back to later, or a special indicator, and can apply to part of a note. A category (categories: in the frontmatter) is for the whole note and connects it to a project it doesn’t physically sit in.
• publish: true is the only gate to this site, and I set it by hand. Everything else stays private, and there is a lot of it.
• Excalidraw drawings are for thinking above what fits in one head — only so much can be tracked by a human brain at a time.
