Finally, which brand? I quite like https://frame.work/ for the same reasons as the fairphone, but the issue with them is the price. Hence I think the best call for what laptop to get in most cases is a refurbished laptop.
I had a plan for making my phone into a computer; I think that can easily work, the biggest issue is just the screen, but a bluetooth keyboard + magnifier glass does get you pretty close, the tech is just not there yet.
