A poem for the quiet beauty of the now:
The moment welcomes me
The reassuring presence of the breeze,
Its coldness not disturbing the peace,
Bringing notice to the dancing hair,
Hands roaming to feel texture.
The spontaneous smells of the surroundings,
Sudden taste of bread in the air,
The signs of wood, of city, of food,
They come and go, uninvited yet welcome.
Every sight like a painting,
Giving rise to impressions, feelings,
Discovery and mystery,
Ordinary places now rich with wonder.
Sounds join the symphony,
Birds chirping the songs of life,
Amidst the relentless movements
Of the cars, of the steps.
Buzzing life,
All in their own bubble,
Moving with quiet intent,
All connected in an invisible design.
A pattern behind the many motions,
Stronger than smells, deeper than sounds,
Something greater, whole,
Revealing its presence only in the silence.
So I let go,
Of thoughts, of music, of trying to fill the silence.
Some moments are meant to be noticed,
Not chased.
