Let’s take a step back.
Everything - is happening in our minds.
Nothing - is real - in the sense that reality isn’t how we think/feel it is. It’s what we focus on, and how we interpret it. And we know little for how to interpret and focus on so little, often ourselves first.
Our mind is tricking us by making it all feel real. But we should play along - because what else is there to do? Realizing it’s all an illusion is freedom, not a burden. It’s how we can avoid suffering. But free will is a responsability, it’s choice, and it can feel heavy. But don’t you want to be smart?

Take thoughts. They happen by themselves, like breathing, you’re not actively doing them. You can direct them, yes. But they’re not you. Once again, this is freedom, because we can change patterns.
Take feelings. Intuition. These are just signals, and you should learn how to interpret them. Anger for instance means something should change. But they shouldn’t control you.
Take culture. Identity. There is no you, but we all cling to it because it is reassuring to know something. However those differences in culture, combined with lack of tolerance and good ethics, lead to war.
Yet thinking, feelings, culture… it’s all useful. It can tell us what we should do sometimes. Just don’t let it direct your life. Learn about others and how they see the world. Go past hate and blame.
For instance, I learned to work like a chinese, handle chaos like an indian, be disciplined like a japanese. It’s good to be loving and kind like a real man. But I should also sometimes be comfortable like a european, or merciless.

That is what we can do. Don’t look for meaning, look for meaningful things. Eventually you may find your calling, just don’t let others decide it for you. In the meantime there is nothing wrong with trying.
I’m still tired so this isn’t written that clearly.
