When I arrived in India, something within me had to change.
I’ve always been a very relaxed person. But there I was put in a completely different environment in conditions that couldn’t be more stressful. I remember being in the touctouc on the highway thinking “this is it. No going back, so let’s just flow with it”
That kind of release of the illusion of control is what allowed me to sleep in the night buses.
It allows me to stay calm in any circumstances.
It allowed me to sleep on the roof of a factory with a rave going on below, despite the worry of the fall.

I just discovered that the same acceptance makes my sleep much better, by feeling safe.

It’s not far from what allows me to rest, to not push myself as we tend to do so often. That is my first lesson.
