They work together, supporting the weak to maintain the forest, have all senses in different ways than us, protect themselves, spread, live so long

Pest, local vs invaders, water, fire, colonisers, seed form etc
Packed soil is an issue, breed with roots and leaves
Humans like variety so bring other species
Forests do move, at a very slow pace and over generations
Long time to find balance, first trees grow too quickly, old ones can stabilize etc, need some areas where no interfere
