You may have been told proudness is a sin.
Well I disagree. It simply shouldn’t be baseless.
Don’t just work.
Don’t just cook.
Do it well. Be proud of it.
Do a decent work, not because you have to, but because you can.
Let us make a great society together.
Without pride we will steal, we will scam, we will try to take advantage of others. Because it’s not hard work that gets us to success, then. It’s cheating.

This is what I feel the west lacks after having traveled to India, China and Japan, as well as a strong sense of community. We have lost our Gods but that does not mean we should lose ourselves and our greatness.
