The brain is a thinking machine, not meant to hold memory.
Therefore, the simple tasks I need to remember go on a list on the computer, projects go on the board. This allows me to both get them out of my head and be more focused on tasks when I do them. Not waste time and fill it with abstract things to do or look at series. It also has the added benefit of not having to think about where you’re putting them, which matters more than you’d think!
Tasks only go here if I don’t deal with them immediately.
I write them here so I don’t need to think about them in my mind.
In a world where attention is more fragmented than ever nothing is more important than the ability to do deep work on the right thing. This means gathering yourself first.
Then you need to write down what matters. Then do it.
